Hi Guys,

I currently have Ray's 57Transcend 19 x 9.5 +38mm 5X120, I was wondering if 255/40/19 will clear on stock suspension without any issues. Still shopping for tires and I'm looking @ the above mentioned tire size or go 255/35/19 or 245/40/19, currently, I upgraded to 255/35/20 with no issues and overall diameter is 27 inches, if I go with the 255/40/19, it will be the same 27 inches which is my current diameter wheel height, which one should I go with,? I'd really appreciate it if you guys can chime in.

TIA

It'll also depend on the tire brand/model. Look at their tread widths. All seasons are typically more narrow tread width so the sidewalls are more rounded. Performance tires are usually wider tread width and taller/squared sidewall.

My advan sport a/s in 255/35/19 are 8.5" tread width but the advan ad08r I just bought in the same size are 9.6" tread width.

Hi Chris,
Thank you for the quick response, the tire shop I was at, was telling me that if the tire that I am currently running (255/35/20) is 27 inches in diameter, and the new tires (255/40/19) are also 27 inches in diameter than it should not be an issue as long as the they are the same in overall diameter height.

Using an online calculator, yea it should be the same...but not all tires are made the same. I'm going to rub a lot more when I put the same size AD08R on.

Yup, me too, I rather go with a 40 series and hopefully not rub or rub a little than to run 35 or 30 series and damage my rims to potholes.
