lol I know what youre talking about. I didn't buy the car as an investment, nor did I buy it for its rarity. I bought it because Ive always wanted a R. However, I was led to believe they were only going to produce a certain amount, then stop for a while then come out with another version in 2 to 3 years. Thats all. I still thinks its pretty rare though. Appreciate it while you got it and next car you get buy something completely different. I'd still take an Integra type R if I could find oneI don’t know if it’s just me, but I feel like they mass producing the the heck of the civic type r! I bought this car thinking they making under 30,000 or even less but damn they planning to do a makeover soon sheesh!! Don’t get me wrong I’m a proud owner of the type r but now I feel like they just doing it to much! Tell me how y’all feel??!!
uncommon is a far better word!I bought a used 2019 this past weekend 05/23/2020. I work at a shop in the Houston area and my shops front door points a the feeder road to a major freeway. I see one or two a week at least pass by my shops front door. There is a friend of someone that lives on my street also in SW Houston area that I see frequently parked in front of their house. I think rare is a strong word, uncommon is more fitting in my eyes. A Lancia Stratos is rare, a Porsche 959 is rare, even a Lambo Aventador...rare. I think our cars are uncommon, nothing more.
At least they’d get msrp in Canada lolThe business is good, the masses want more. Why would they stop making them? The Phoenix Yellow LE CTR was sold out within minutes on pre-order. All couple hundreds of them were gone without showing the MSRP in Canada. People love the CTR.
Let’s settle on “The Civic Type R is the rarest car you can get for under 40k”A Lancia Stratos is rare, a Porsche 959 is rare, even a Lambo Aventador...rare. I think our cars are uncommon, nothing more.
even fenders? woof.I think I’ve seen 4 total in the wild. There is someone in town here with a normal civic hatch that has added all of the bodywork from the R. The only giveaway is the tiny brakes. I don’t understand that. For how much he’s spent, he could’ve had the real thing.
I'm with you. NJ here and haven't seen many in my neck of the woods. Like that's it's more uncommon.I like that our cars are uncommon. I live in NJ and I rarely see another Type R around. I too am happy that they are still in production and they are selling out. I want manual sports cars to stick around.
