Who needs a Radar Detector when we have Waze?
I run Waze through CarPlay as a backup and for traffic.

It won't help you if they just got there or they're hidden really well.

The one cop I've seen, the one from the story, wasn't on Waze yet.

I've been poking around a bit and watching videos but I just cant seem to get it, which is disheartening cause tech is kinda my thing.

What I really wanted was the Redline 360c but it's sold out everywhere and is even more expensive than this one which was already very expensive.

I'm about ready to return it and spend that money on other goofy stuff.
For what it's worth the 360c seems to be pretty readily available online at various retailers and also in stock at a wholesaler I checked with. Perhaps they have restocked since you last checked? It does have a heck of a price tag though.

It definitely does. I don't even pay retail and it's still a hefty chunk of change.

What kind of a margin are you seeing on the Redline 360c? Only about 12.5% on my end. I'm thinking my wholesale source is a bit high.

Ka falses should be pretty rare, shouldn’t be any from other cars, automatic door openers etc. Unless you are driving by a lot of ground mounted (instead of roof mounted) DTV and dish network satellite dishes which can cause a Ka false it seems like you may have a defective unit. Or perhaps living in flat Texas you are picking up legitimate radar from long distances and on different roads than you were traveling. I’m not familiar with the 360c but there’s probably an option to turn off the speed trap area alerts. X band isn’t used in TX so you could turn that off too.

It’s not out yet but the Radenso Theia is supposed to only alert to actual police radar and nothing else, but will be expensive. If it lives up to the hype I’m going to get one!

You should turn off X band, it's useless in 48 states including TX. Turn off POP, it's a gimmick and impacts sensitivity timing. If you have that many ka falses, try the 10 band ka narrow settings. Did you read into the settings? https://www.vortexradar.com/2017/11/how-to-set-up-configure-escort-max-360c-radar-detector/
I did read into the settings. I've played with some and I'll run it for a few days to see if it's better.

If it's not I'll just return it and buy go fast bits or something.

I’d recommend getting the detector sorted out before buying go fast bits ?
LOL Tru.

I ran super hotboi style to work this morning cause I was late and with the new setting the detector was much quieter than the last couple days and only gave me two K band false alerts, both to new VWs strangely enough.

It was enough to catch a TxDPS parked on the highway with a pretty good warning time cause I was kicking along at a good little sprint and would have DEFINITELY gotten interdicted for it.

People that come upon cops that are not already showing on Waze... lol

I run a V1 Gen 2. No false off of other vehicles. Only annoyance is it still hits on the "your speed is" signs near exit ramps and sharp curves. I also use Waze.

I'm a little late here, but if anyone is curious about detectors, your best bet is always Uniden. The R1, R3, R7 are all slam dunks, depending on what features you want. If you're on a budget you can't beat the DFR6, 7, 8, or 9.

That is all. Thanks!

This. I believe uniden has the best products, especially given their price. The rest are way to expensive and have subpar range and performance.
