How do you go about making a shallow subwoofer box? Looks like something I would like to have.
the process is called stacked fab. Its basically measuring the contours of your liner wall to the desired height. It can be done obviousely cause i did but its very time consuming and it took me weeks and lots of plywood scraps as experiments to throw away till i had every layer to my liking. Also you have to consider that as you build up..you want to make sure its going to have a wall thickness all the way around to about 3/4 of an inch thick which at least for me is a head ache. I would probably stick with doing it out of fiberglass to have it done in a few days from start to finish..not as much measuring required compared to stacked fab. Though fiberglass can be just as stiff like plywood, i just prefured going this route to have a True 3/4 wall thickness all the way around so the box does not flex during hi volume.
Check out other posts here..lots of impressive work done with fiberglass and diy's as well.
