As many of you may know, the factory fuel system has been a limiting factor for the 1.5T platform in terms of making big power, especially with ethanol. Though we managed to crack the 400 wheel horsepower a few months back with our GTX2867R GEN2 equipped 2017 Civic Si, the factory fuel system was pushed to the max.

Our solution for this fueling limitation is a proper port injection kit that provides additional fuel flow while reducing intake sludge and carbon buildup.

Kits will include:
  • Intake manifold adapter plate w/ injector ports
  • Fuel rail
  • Stand-offs w/ all hardware needed for install
  • Optional injectors
Users will be responsible for sourcing an injector controller, wiring, fittings, fuel hose, etc.

Our Port Injection Kit was designed around the industry standard Bosch EV14 injector style, which is commonly used by brands like Injector Dynamics, Deatschwerks, Fuel Injector Clinic, Fuel Injector Development, etc, which can be used with most any fueling available.

This kit does NOT eliminate the factory direct injection system.

Due to the thickness of the Port Injection Kit intake manifold adapter plate, a custom or additional coupler hose is needed to connect the charge pipe to the throttle body. We are currently working on a solution for this as well.

It is to a point. Lets see if Hondata/Ktuner come up with a solution. It could be as simple (to us... it'd be a PITA for them) as a firmware change for devices we've already bought and for it to just provide additional fuel once the DI system is at a certain duty cycle. The rest of the stuff is pretty easy... though we might also find the limits of the stock fuel pump aren't as high as we want either.

Oh wow...

Now we'll finally get to see the real limits of the L15B7. Praise be to those early adopters who are willing to go into uncharted waters... and to those L15B7s who die for the cause...
Lol. I'm pretty sure we've seen the limits of the stock motor. Plenty of examples going around including myself.

The issue with KTuner and Hondata would be how to get the signal to the device. It must have a way to control the injectors through the OBD2 port, which means it would have to tie into the factory system. The FlexFuel kit gets away with this by using the IAT2 plug. I think ultimately, the real solution will require a standalone ECU management system.

As a current '17 SI owner and soon to be '19 Type R owner, thank you to all of the early adopting SI owners that will be living in uncertain times while the kinks get worked out. The sacrifice of your time and money will ensure that by the time the kit for the R gets made, there will be a clear upgrade path established. :)

I can't wait to see how high we can push the R's top end on the stock turbo, once we get extra fueling!

The R has this already for some time for fueling

Wow, cool stuff. I knew that there was a Full Race kit out that had showed some disappointing figures, but this seems to somehow up the top end without any impact to responsiveness. I'll be curious to see if Derek still feels good about it after he's had time to play with one.

Anyway, sorry for derailing the topic. All around exciting stuff!

Would not be a firmware change for a tuner device; would need to be a "stand alone" controller. More than likely using R4 Engine Software.
The wiring would need to be tapped into stock coil packs, MAF, and ECU + it's own injector set. Fuel link to the HPFP as well. Now, it needs to be flashed; preferably using a LOAD based target for reliability (thus the connection to the MAF).
I believe I missed a great many finite details, but that is about the bread & butter.

That kind of system would allow FULL E85 fueling; but, the Low End pump would need to be upgraded as the demand would be higher than the supply. This also depends on the size of injectors being used as well.

All in all, would be a nice to system just to release the strain on the fueling system and keep the Cylinders cooler + the valves cleaner than sparkling teath.
