You should tell us what kind of issues you might be having. Do you have one yet? Plenty of us have them with no issues.

Nope. It is easily the most popular aftermarket intake for the 10th gen Civic. Most would tell you it offers the highest performance. When installed properly (not something difficult to achieve) it works great.

I'm planning to install one soon. I guess my biggest concern is a Hydrolocking if anybody can explain in which condition it can occur, it'd be awesome!

It would occur if you drive through deep standing water. Not really something someone should be doing in a Civic regardless of the intake. Rain, puddles, etc are not a concern.

Thanks for answering. Are you talking about heavy rain?

No, not just heavy rain. You'd have to submerge the front end of the car pretty good for that to happen. I've driven in some horrible rain storms with no issues.

If it can block water then won't it also block the air that you are trying to take advantage of?

Water molecules are larger than the single atoms or diatoms that make up the air.

Also the fabric can be coated with hydrophobic chemicals that make it even more difficult for water to get through while not affecting airflow.

Sure, you're going to add some amount of restriction by adding the fabric over the filter, but I assume the conical filters, even with a hydro-shield, still allow more airflow than the OEM airbox and filter.

Plus you're still getting the benefit of colder air.

After posting in this thread I have read in at least two other threads where PRL said the sock will lower the affect of the CAI. It appears that my logic is sound. Yes, the hydroshield will still allow the CAI to work, but to a diminished extent.
