Has anyone had any issues with hydro locking? I plan on lowering my 2017 si sedan on d2 springs as well so should the placement of the PRL cai be a concern for hyrdolocking?

If you are not driving through water that's a foot deep then you do not have anything to worry about. You have to submerge the filter to find yourself in trouble.

The filter element is behind the plastic wheel-well cladding, unless you submerge the front enough to cutoff all air it’s probably not an issue.
