Hey Everyone,

Didn't see anything for Ontario specifically, so thought I would make a thread. Can anyone make a note on where they went for PPF, how much it was and how happy they are with the outcome?

Thanks!

OCG Detailing

2 Stage Paint Correction (Paint Correction Mandatory)
XPEL PPF (Full Hood + Front Bumper) [$1800 alone]
Opti-Coat Pro Ceramic Coating [$1200 alone]

$2400 Cash Combo Discount

Paint correction was really good. I daily my black car which used to see automatic touch  car washes daily so about 80% of the scratches were removed. I'm not fully satisfied with the PPF though. The black faux vents and black honda grill weren't covered. Technically they're not part of the bumper cover but I assumed it would be included. I had to go back to get the thin section above the front honda badge trimmed by the corners because it started to peel. Maybe Type R owners get better attention to detail?...

Overall, comparing the price I was offered to "Get Detailed" which quoted me $3800, I'd say I'm happy for what I paid for. It wasn't perfect but they were responsive to my concerns post-install and offered to fix issues. Their location and hours are convenient for me since I live far from the city.

I actually got my front bumper and hood repainted before the PPF and ceramic coating.
If you don't get PPF, it will get rock chips and scratches again. Then that money you invested in the repaint becomes a waste.
Best thing to do is get PPF right after buying car so you don't need repaint.

Mine is covered under insurance.
But with anything we buy in this world, we hope things like that don't happen.

You think its covered by insurance or it is? I never heard such a thing.. but im in America.

Is tint covered by insurance? Rims? Not in America by Geico as far as i know, but i could be mistaken. But coverage would change the circumstances and pros v cons for sure on a 2-3k investment.

Mine IS covered under insurance. I had to show proof of purchase. I think it depends on your provider and history.
My wheels, tint, and oem accessories were not covered though.

Here in Canada, mods are covered under insurance. When the insurance adjuster comes out to appraise the value of your totalled car, they'll take into account mods/paint work/wrap stuff. Including tint and rims if you had stated it on your insurance prior to the accident.

Quite sure it works the same way down in the states as well.

I went to Restyle It Wraps in Vaughan last year. I had the front bumper done for around 600$. Very happy with the results. I've used them twice (same car bc my bumper needed to be replaced) and will use them again whenever I get my Type R ?.
