Looking for some help on wheel and tire fitment.

I am thinking about getting the Niche Misano M117 for my Ex-L. And I am leaning towards 18x8 +40 offset (that I found on Carid).
I'm just wondering if they fit well in terms of flushness and stock suspension (bc daily/city driving). I want most flush I can get with the fenders, but worst case I'd rather have them sit tiny bit inside the wheel well, rather than poke out.

And I have read around and done some research on tire size.. 235/40 seems to be the go-to for this wheel size?
If it's kinda obvious, I know little about this stuff ...
18x8.5 +35 with a 235/40/18 is the most popular aftermarket setup on here and will provide you the most flush non-poke look. With the specs of the wheels you want, your wheel will be about 11mm away from being flushed to the fender.

Most people will go with the 235/40 tire size because that is the factory size for Si and Touring models. Also, 18x8 +40 is a great size as it will never cause issues with rubbing, even on a lowered car. If you feel that the looks are not quite flush enough, you could opt to add spacers.

Yeah they are way overpriced. You could get a new set of volks, advans, and still have some money left over.

3k+ wheels is kinda overkill for a civic. I really like GL 57CR, or VR te37s. They look the best on Japan cars imo, but they are most target from wheel thief. Imagine wake up in the morning and see all ur wheels are gone.:ninja:

I dont disagree, I was just saying the ABT wheels are even more than those. 6k+ per set.

Looks sharp even without a drop. Making me consider a set of wheels without a drop =)
i was worried about the look with out a drop aswell but with the wider offset i think it made the stock wheel gap look a little less ridiculous

1st post! I have a 2018 Civic Hatchback LX or Sport coming in Sonic Grey on order. (Dealer trying to locate one that is a manual)

Stock 18" wheels on the sport are almost 30lbs. Looking to get some high performance wheels for mpg (even 1), acceleration, and deceleration for under $1000. Will not be lowering until maybe next year. Questions:

  1. Anybody running 17's? These would be cheaper, and lighter. Not sure if they'll look funny, everybody rocking 18's here.
  2. Looking at the O.Z Alleggerita HLT's right now. Weight below 20lbs is what I'm looking for.
  3. Are wheels fragile when this light?
  4. Any budget and still performance friendly tires out there?
