Hey all I have a 16’ LXP 2-dr N/A. And I’m looking to possibly/maybe trade in for the 4-door hatchback Sport CVT. I’m wanting a bit more room/space, both trunk and seating wise. The 1.5T engine is a bonus but not a requirement, although I’d go this option since I’ll be paying out of pocket.

I’m stuck between deciding on which year is the most reliable iteration of the 1.5T. I’m choosing between the 2018-2020 pre-owned/certified, under ~$20K. Since I’m not trying to go brand new.

I appreciate your opinions! Thank you!

I've had the 2018 civic hatch LX and just switched to a civic hatch sport touring 2020.

The base model and the higher models have the same engine, just more premium features (leathers, sunroof, blindsport camera, nav, etc). Honestly, if you want to save some of the upgrades for later on the base model is fine. I HIGHLY recommend moving to the 2020 version for the updated nav system (which is really the only difference).

If you couldn't care for the updated nav, 2018-2020 makes barely any difference. The trim matters more, heck because of world events even the 2021 version has little to no differences.

I love the civic hatch hence why I stayed with it. I wouldn't consider this a "fast" car but its fun, especially if you tune it.

Good luck!

I'm not so much concerned with infotainment stuff. And I'm not big into mods like I use to be, keeping everything stock except for maybe LED's.

I prefer Sport trim because of the exterior styling.

There will be a new civic for 2022. Wait til the year end, you can get the new Civic or the old ones for cheaper.
