I was wondering if anybody here knows if it's possible to swap the front and back vent "mustaches" from the 2020 hatches to the '17 hatches? They all seem to use the same body, but just seeing if anyone knows for sure....

I would like to know as well. It seems like it would be tho.
yeah the only complication I can think of is the sensors that are integrated into the front section but as long as those are just a separate connection possibly the front looks identical to the last version unlike the sedans....

the back just looks like you need to unclip the old fake cents and snap in the new possibly...

I just looked into this today. The rear bumper cover is a different part #, however, I believe it is only because of the section behind the fake vent mesh. The new fake vents (2020) are deeper, which suggests that the 2020 bumper cover is either cut out, or has a depression for fitment of the deeper style vents. I am going to order the two rears, and see if they can be retrofitted into my 2017 bumper cover. The fronts appear to be a straight swap over.

Well, the left side came in, the right side is on back order. They are quite a bit different than the Si sedans' vents, but still look better than the originals. I have not had the rear bumper cover off of the car, so I have no idea what it looks like with the current vent pieces removed.

Interested to see how this turns out. Those damn inserts are a deal breaker for me on the 2020s. I want to get a 2020 because my 2019 got totaled but would like to keep the honeycomb vents.

The rear 2020 'faux' vents still have a mesh section, however the fronts are just flat solid pieces, with small open slots cut in them for air to pass through. I'm only doing the rear sections to start off with. Not sure about the front yet.

I plan to get another black one, the minor change in the fake vents makes the rear and front of the car look less "clean" and too "busy" in my opinion. If the vents aren't interchangeable, maybe swapping bumpers with a 18-19 would be easier. Also.. maybe an unpopular opinion.. I don't prefer the blacked out housing in the new 2020 headlights, so I'll consider trading them with someone else that has the older models.

It's been confirmed that the old vents, front and rear, are mounted on the 2019 Si bumpers, which are the same as 2020 bumpers with cutout after certain VIN number.

With that said, you can get yourself the old vents to put them on your 2020 bumpers without any issue, but those previous SI without the big cutout at the rear can't install the 2020 vents unless mods are done.

I think we're talking about the Si here. I'm talking about the hatchback specifically. And I'm wondering will the fake vents be interchangeable between the previous 17-19 hatchbacks and the new 2020. I want to replace the new ones with the old ones.

It's still the same either Si sedan or hatchback. If you rear bumper doesn't has the big cutout for the vents to go in, then mods have to be done.

Honda started using the new bumpers, front and back, in the 2019 refresh after certain VIN. In other words, the old vents can be put on the 2020 bumpers, but not vice versa unless mods are done.

I took the sonic gray keyed 2020 left vent back to the dealership, and reordered them in all black. I will do the same when I swap out the fronts also.
