Sorry for the late question, but would you mind me asking the dimensions of the plates you used?
I installed am Si wing on my lx coupe, but the weight of the spoiler made the trunk wobble, especially when going over bumps or a rocky road.
I decided to remove it until I add the mounting plates, but im not sure what size to get. You suggested 1/8" thick plates, but what length and width should they be?
thanks.
Hey dude, sorry I’m not super active here.

They were maybeeee 2 1/2” by 4”? I’ll see if this picture I attached uploads. I had to have the plates made and then I just painted them the closest red auto spray paint I could find at Canadian Tire

I’m currently about to do this. The Si trunk lid has reinforced plates underneath the trunk to stiffen up the spoiler, so I made small plates about 1/8” thick out of steel and drilled into them using the bolt pattern from the spoiler, then we welded nuts to the plates where the holes are. This made the plates somewhat similar to the ones of the Si and should be strong enough. I would recommend you put some sort of reinforcement in the trunk lid rather than just install the spoiler directly to the trunk. If you don’t you’ll likely bend the trunk.

The parts I ordered was the spoiler, which comes all as one unit, 6 of the bolts for it, 6 rubber washers, the Si trunk springs to replace my trunks springs and then I made the two metal plates with welded nuts.

Edit: alternatively to save yourself heartache if you have the money to spare, you can just order the Si trunk lid, mind you I priced it out and on top of the $700 for the spoiler, you’ll run another $1000 for the trunk lid, plus the labour to get the lids swapped out

Hi i seen you made some plates for reinforcement. To install these plates did you need to trim or cut your trunk inside to make the plates fit? Thanks

I know that this is an old thread but i have a 2018 honda civic ext coupe and was thinking about buying the si spoiler. I just want to know if it will fit on the car and if so, are there any downsides to having it like denting of the trunk?

I bought the Si springs at the same time. You will need them
Hi, i know i’m like 3 years late but i recently added a spoiler to my coupe and noticed the center part shakes when i close the trunk and go over pot holes. does applying the springs stop that? or is it because the trunk isn’t as durable as the Si?

The wing shakes on my factory Si so even if your trunk is less durable it likely doesn't make a difference.
