At last someone has a kit out for the Type R. MoTec users should be able to take advantage of this pretty easily. KTuner and Hondata users... I have no information on what will happen but I have been told the Focus RS is able to run port injectors with a modification to the stock ECU.

If anyone is interested in working with me to develop a KTuner solution to this... @KTuner and @D-RobIMW I have some ID1000's ready to go and I wouldn't mind getting this kit on order!

Aside from power, another benefit from Port Injection is to reduce oil residue direct fuel injected engines suffer from, we might see this on the CTR engine.

the oil residue is from oil vapor that the PCV side catch can catches, regardless of port injection or not, all CTR should have this can. The port injection will help cool the intake valves and the air charge as long as fuel temps dont get high.
Which cat kit are you running? Mishi?

Yup, I'm building my engine and I will add the port injection in the mix while the motor is out. Shooting for 800whp so let us pray we can make it.

I'm wondering how much extra power could you make with the port injection and the stock turbo.
I'd be more concerned about the reliability of the motor before worrying about the stock turbo. I've seen a couple of people grenade their CTR by stepping the torque too high. Sure the tune helps but you still need to factor oem part limitations. It's best to upgrade to robust parts designed for high power applications versus taking a risk that could cost you thousands more than a piston and rod swap.

Isn't the port injection aimed at making horsepower at the top end? Since that is where it is falling off and the fuel demand is really high?

Do agree that bending rods is a big reliability concern for those pushing up the torque down low.

I am much more interested in pushing more power at the top end. The R with the Stage 1 ktuner basemap already has plenty of torque down low. If you could keep the torque at 375 WTQ all the way up to redline, you would have 500 WHP. That's way more than I want. I don't think for track purposes there is much to gain going past 400 WHP because at that power level third gear is getting close to the limit of traction.
