another very strange issue.

my civic only has 37K on it and every time i first get in my car, the second i turn my steering wheel, i notice a pop in the front drivers side.

it only happens once a drive. after that, nothing.

i doubt it's the CV joint, might be strut? no idea.

what do you think?

Strut top bearing, the spring can bind up if they get sticky and when the spring frees itself you get a pop.

I doubt its even worth jacking the car up for, it wont really affect anything. Its just the spring twisting inside the spring perches when the wheels turn (when parking, especially when going over uneven bumps like gutters). Energy gets twisted up in the spring then it pops free when the car settles. These things never seem to last long in cheap FWD cars. Mine started doing it at about 10k miles, and now at 103k I still have the same single pop every once in awhile but it never got worse. I'm just going to wait until the struts go bad I think.
