Poll: Is 2021 going to start the 11th generation?

Do you think the 2021 will be the 11th generation Civic?

Now that this generation Civic has gone 5 years (2016 - 2020), I expect the 2021 model to be the 1st year of the 11th generation Civic.

While the 8th gen went 6 years, that was unusual. It was 1 of the Civic's most popular generations.

With a 2020 refresh I do not expect a new model in 2021. Time will tell.

I don't see it happening just yet. I fully expect them to use their current F1 Hybird experience to help build a true performance Hybird Si. Not only because their F1 technology is getting better and better, but because legislation demands it eventually.

Gen 8 was a car of the year and made it 6 years ‘06-11. Gen 9 flopped and went 4 ‘12-15. While the Civic gets a good chunk of the market share, it’s a shrinking market compared to CUVs. Seeing as how it’s still competitive and just got a mild refresh for year 3-4 depending on trim, I’d call that mid cycle and say we’ll keep CivicX for 2021 and flip a coin for 2022.

NO, they just did a refresh with the 2020, I wouldn't expect a new gen for at least 3 more models, so 2023 at the earliest. take the 7th gen as an example, it got a refresh with a new headlight design and a new bumper to fit the new headlights and new tailllights halfway through its lifespan.

2021 Civic Type R will be the limited edition, so we know that 2021 will still be 10th gen, but most likely the Limited Edition will close out the generation and mid 2021 we will see the 12th Gen come as a 2022 model

Keep in mind that with the 10th gens, the sedan and coupe were released first and the hatches a year later. Especially with Swindon closing, I suspect we might see the same pattern when the 11th gen is released.

IIRC Gen 8 went long due to the original 9th gen design getting scrapped mid way though the design cycle.

As for 2021 starting the 11th gen... Maybe?

The CTR will still be 10th gen in 2021, but it isn't unheard of to have a performance model hold over after the new gen comes out (For example the 2006 M3 was still the E46 even though the rest of the 3 series line had switched over to the E9X model).
