Back in September I PlastiDipped my wheels. I already had black lug nuts, and I left the center caps stock. I wasn't sure if I liked them at first, but they've grown on me, and I'm interested to see how they hold up over the winter.

I ended up having to buy a jack and jackstands, because I wanted to do it right, but once the wheels were off, it was really easy.

Here's the car up on jackstands, pre-dip:

Wheels off:

I used some corrugated paper boxes ("cardboard" is a dirty word in my company) and created partitions so that I could dip each wheel without worrying about overspray:

After the wheels were dipped, I put them back on:

Did you mask off your tires or use the spray?

I've been itching to do mine bronze

I did not mask them or anything else. The only thing I did was remove the wheels from the car, and setup those partitions. I'd spray a coat on, then wait 15-20 minutes, then go do another coat.

Here's what I'd see when I walked up to do a coat:

I'd just sit down and spray on a coat. No masking the wheels.

It looks really nice, I hope the coating lasts
