hey bud haven't heard from you. hows your setup going? I thought I would message you cuz i was wondering why you could possibly have a different harness. the only thing that make sense to me is do you have a Si Sedan. Mine is a coupe. I think the Sedan has more speakers, but i could be wrong.

Thank you. Yes, I am only powering the sub with the added JL amp. Stock audio is all the same. I only tapped into the front door speaker signals for the LC2i. Bass, Mids, Highs are all still the same and yes the door speakers bass still does not sound great after or about 30 volume even with bass level set all the way down. I am considering swapping out front door speakers with JL audios but I am hesitant on removing door panels in fear of them having a looser rattle prone fit when reinstalling.
That's my issue, i hate when Bass is coming from the door speakers. I guess I may have to figure out how to only push Mids to the door speakers.

I ordered an Audio Control amp lc-1.800 I'm going to tap the front speakers per JL audios recommendation they were very cool said audio control is best option for our cars and yeah I have a sedan and as far as your doors rip them babys off I've had mine off 3 times no issues at all and swapping speakers is worth the time and money i have kicker ks 6.75 and the mid bass is astounding i can literally feel it on my leg when I drive I have always wanted focal so i'm swapping them for focal this weekend Ill lose some of that mid bass but gain clarity

I recommend the Fix 86 from jl audio it automatically flattens the EQ with minimal distortion, gives you a 10 band equalizer through an application called Tün, and it gives out 3 RCA outputs to your amps.

When I talked them they said don't bother get a audio control device because the fix wont address factory bass roll off? here is their recommendation.....

Since you're only adding a subwoofer, you can probably skip the FiX, unless you plan on performing a full upgrade in the future and want to save yourself some work down the line. Something like an AudioControl LC2i may be a better solution for your application.

nice pics nice install i see that carbon decal on the wheel I got the same ones :) What's up with the hp filter on 50 have you tried 80 should sound alot better on 80-100 Also appreciate the pics going to tap into my amp this weekend cant wait your pictures will help me a lot just got to find color codes for the front doors
Man thanks aa lot. You were right. I now have it set on about 90 and it sounds even better then before. Sorry for the late feedback but again, thanks. You finish up your install. BTW you mentioned you already ripped off the doors and you were having trouble with the color codes on the wires harness. If you can easily take off doors again just check the speakers wire colors as they should be the same color all the way to the harness.

Hey guys I am going to do my setup tomorrow but I have a few questions:

I have seen some people say to get the best signal for the sub to tap into the front speakers, but I have also seen some say to tap into the stock sub. Which is best?
Do I need to touch to stock amp at all?
Also do you guys keep the stock sub connected after adding an aftermarket sub?

I have also seen seen on forums people using both methods and have had mixed reviews. I personally used the front speakers as i read it was the best signal to use. I believe someone else on this thread had theirs tapped with stock sub and said it sounded like crap. Mine sounds great to me. If you dont mind the extra work I would go with the front speakers. Also if you decide in the future to add an amp for the interior speakers you will already be tapped into that signal which will make it easier. to tap the front speaker you will have to tap in at the stock amp. My stock sub is disconnected as it sounds like crap and there is no need for it. It will just add terrible distorted sound compared to the great sound you JL will be pushing out. Good choice on sub and amp

Ok thanks for the response. I see your points. I will go with front speakers and disconnect sub after.
