Here are some additional pics of the exterior and also some pics showing how the baby seats fit in the car. I have two boys; one is about 15 months so he's still rear facing and the other is just over 3 and so he's front facing. The driver side has plenty of room with the child seat. I took a couple pics of both my wife and I sitting in the passenger side with the seat rear-facing behind us. I would never actually sit on that side but I do fit (barely!). I'm 5'11" and my wife is 5'5".

Extremely useful for me! I've got 2 forward facing - one in a booster behind me and one in a 5pt harness seat behind my passenger seat. Still looking for hatch sizing since I'm holding out for TypeR, but I'd expect the seating to be similar to what we are seeing in the sedan, perhaps with the bonus of added headroom for the rear passengers.

Thanks!! I hope it all comes together! Only detail in waiting on now- the back seat must be bigger than my 8th civic Si. If smaller, it might break the deal.

If you got ten minutes to just throw away, go to the Honda UK website and 'build' your own Civic Type R. When you get to the accessories section, you can pick various child safety seats that actually integrate into the interior of the rear seat of the Civic, rather than not matching and looking like they're clearly an unplanned afterthought.

I can't quite tell who makes these seats and I can't tell if they're universal or custom-built to the rear seat of the TypeR, but still interesting considering the dealers here don't offer anything like this-

I know this is an old thread but I just wanted to add my experience since I referred to this thread when researching. We just got our foster license and will be getting our first placement soon so I put in a Graco 4ever seat yesterday in the fully reclined mode and it fit great. The picture shows the front seat all the way back and there was still some room between the front seat and car seat. The fit is better than our CX-5 and I'm very impressed/surprised by it.

Just for reference purposes I'll throw up mine, one forward facing and rear facing in the back. Both fit pretty well and have good bit more room than in my previous '07 Ford Focus. In the focus I had to have both front seats more forward than I like and event then there was JUST enough room for the seats. In the civic I have both front seats in comfortable positions with plenty of room for the seats. The rear facing seat just barely touches the back of the passenger seat but still enough room for a comfortable front seat passenger.

There was a thread on ToV about some issues with fitting front facing car seats due to fixed headrests. Here is a link to the article referenced. Can anyone confirm/deny?
http://www.edmunds.com/honda/civic/...front-and-rear-facing-child-safety-seats.html

Both of mine are now front facing and I can see how the fixed headrests COULD get in the way of some seats that would lay completely flat/flush against the seat back however I had no issue with both of mine and didn't have to do put anything under them like in that article. I would assume it just dependent on the design of the specific seat.
