This might be a really dumb question, but what are the differences between these 2 parts?

I see that one shows "L" and the other shows "R", but the diagrams are identical and as far as I'm aware, there is no lanewatch camera available for the driver's side mirror . One is numbered as 9, the other 17. I see no difference, so why would I pay another $270 for the same part?
Also, on the more expensive part, it shows it was replaced by a "newer" part number. This is the "newer" part below. Anyone know why the part number would have been changed/replaced?

Thanks in advance!
