I've been wanting to do this to my EX as well! Would you mind taking a pic from farther back so I can see the entire side profile of the car with the red calipers? Thanks!
painting your EX is never a good idea.... haha

This post is over a year old...
So. Haha I was doing some reading on the forums (never a bad thing to do!!) and saw an opportunity for a joke. I’m sure someone will get a nice chuckle out of it in the future

don't be scared its not hard. it just takes some time. Make sure u use caliper paint so it can stand the high heat.
I used news papers and scotch-tape to cover up the surrounding. and then just sprayed layer after layer, lightly.
I did three layers on each caliper. You can also finish it off with a glossy protectant but make sure that is ALSO high heat resistant.
If i dont forget, i will get you a pic of how it looks now. I have done mine at least 4 times by now (re-painted).

Remember:
95% Preperation
5% Spraying

If you don't prepare the surface correctly, then the paint will not last, and will probably not look so good either.

Hello,
I painted my brake calipers red, and wanted to share it with you guys. Spray painting it was fairly easy. Just removed the tire used magazine papers and duct tape to cover surrounding, and spray painted it.

So you cannot just paint these. If you want the paint to stay on the cast iron you need to sand the caliper first. I had someone paint mine years ago and the paint started to come off after 3 weeks or a month. They obviously didn't sand them well.
This is what you get if you don't sand them good. Im gunna try and clean and sand them this weekend and repaint them when I put my new rotors and pads on. Will update when done
