I stupidly managed to curb one of my wheels on my '17 Civic Sport hatchback. They're the black 18inch alloy wheel. Does anybody know the paint code for the rim or should I head back to the dealer so I can order something to touch it up with? The rim itself isn't damaged much but it scraped a fair amount of the finish off.

I'd also like to know this - I just had the same thing happen on a tall curb I stupidly scraped against. Thanks!

I'm not sure you can get touch up paint for the wheels, but definitely start at the dealer.

Here's a photo of the damage:

I've decided at this point to take to dealer / other specialist rather than try to fix this myself - and will be more careful!

Same thing happened to me...
On day 2. I'm too embarrassed to go back to the dealer so any advice from what you learn would be super :)

So my wife dinged a curb within the first 48 hours! She felt so bad and was going to buy a new wheel, but at almost $400 I figure we're half way to Hondata and I'll live with the scuffs.

I couldn't stand looking at it so I went to Auto zone and picked up a paint pen; 'Graphite' under the Honda section. Sanded the spots lightly to smooth it out a bit, cleaned it well, and used the brush to put 4 or 5 coats on waiting about an hour between coats.

The paint is not a perfect match, seems a little more sparkly, but nobody will notice unless they are actively looking for it

Color I used:

Not too terrible, but hard to capture how bright the silver scuffs are.

I'll grab an after pic in the morning...

shitty touchup after pics

It's not the best, but I'm not too worried about it. I was just glad to be able to get rid of the obvious bright silver shining through. If someone finds a proper paint match I may revisit, but meh; good enough for now.

I just asked the dealer who sold me the car 3 months ago. He said he cannot give me a color code for the alloy wheels. In many years he is working for Honda never got a color code for that. He suggest to go to a body shop they do a color matching. Well I went to Kirmac Collision & Autoglass, Langley, BC, Canada. and they estimated at least $500 after the shock I went to a Honda dealer they said yes we can fix this for $500. So It is standard: to fix a little chip in you alloy wheel will cost you half grand! BUT I tried Dupli-Color® - All-in-1™ Paint Scratch Repair Kit Touch Up luckily the damaged area was the same color of the body of my Honda then I could get the exact color code Crystal Black Pearl NH731P and you can see the results in the pictures: Not Bad At All! here a video in YT:

Wow are charging you $500?!
I know a mobile wheel guy who charges $100 cash, done in 1 ~ 1.5 hours.
He fixes the curbed/damages wheels for the some of the local dealerships (e.g. Honda, Lexus, Toyota ... they are right next to each other).
He's fixed Si, Sport / Touring Hatchback, and Type-R wheels before.

Because of how the wheels are made/machined at the factory, it won't be easy to recreate the machined lines without refinishing the entire wheel. I'm assuming (HOPEFULLY) they are charging you $500 because they are machining/refinishing the entire wheel, rather than just fixing/machining/refinishing the damages spot, and reapplying the clear coat.

AWR...looks like they have a repair shop on the mainland (and mobile repair truck for us on Vancouver Island).

I've used their mobile service twice now (not on my Civic, but other cars), and I've personally seem work on Sport Hatch, Si, and Type-R wheels.
Pretty good results.

Thank u vic for the info. I didn’t fix the rim with Honda or kirmac. Way TOO EXPENSIVE! I just used the duplicate-colour pen. 16 bucks! And the results are decent. Happy with that

My Civic sport had some curb rash when I bought it; I couldn't find a duplicolor nearby that matched, figured I'd share what I used instead:

Rustoleum Dark Walnut gloss spraypaint:

Painted a can to see how it matched up, was happy with how close it was:
Honda Civic 10th gen Paint code for '18 black Sport rim 02 color match

Tape off the rashed bits (this wheel had several spots):
Honda Civic 10th gen Paint code for '18 black Sport rim 03 tape it u

Sand it down with 60 then 80 grit (I used a dual-grit sanding sponge), then wipe off the dust:
Honda Civic 10th gen Paint code for '18 black Sport rim 04 sand it 60 80

Cover everything you don't want oversprayed:
Honda Civic 10th gen Paint code for '18 black Sport rim 05 cover everythin

Hit the spots with a coat. Remember to use quick swipes from about 12-14" away, start spraying off your target and sweep across completely before stopping spray once past your target, to avoid pooling. Let it sit for 20 min or so and hit it with another coat:
Honda Civic 10th gen Paint code for '18 black Sport rim 06 spray it, 2 coats

Remove your tape ASAP; here's what the touchup looks like when still wet.
Honda Civic 10th gen Paint code for '18 black Sport rim 07 looks ok as it dried

As it dries it blends even more:
Honda Civic 10th gen Paint code for '18 black Sport rim 08

You really have to get up on it and look closely to spot the repairs, which is good enough for me.
