I’ve had my hatch for a full 3 months now and I’m not so concerned about cosmetic damage now. Passenger side doors were keyed 2 weeks in, passenger side skirt was mangled on a curb last week, and I’m noticing swirls on the hood in direct sunlight (black car) because of when I was learning how to detail lol. Want to polish the clear coat but I’ll do that when the swirls get really bad. Looks liquid metal in almost every other situation.
I definitely see the appeal of owning an older car where it’s assumed to have wear and little things don’t hit you as hard. But I feel I’m already approaching a good balance of respect for the car but not caring about things I can’t control
