Well the wife totaled the Hatch
Tboned a f150 at the front wheel going 55mph. The f150 was totaled too.

She is doing good though just alot of bruises and knee pain. The cars airbags for sure saved her life.

oh, man... hurts to see this. But glad your wife was okay from the accident. What happened if you don't mind saying. I ask because I wonder how the Honda Sensing reacted especially the forward collision mitigation feature. Are y'all going to get another Civic?

She was going 55mph down a highway in the country and there was a intersection that the cross traffic had stop sign. That person never stopped and ran it. She said it happened so fast that she swerved to the right and thats all she remembers.

This happened monday night and the driver was at fault. We both had Progressive insurance and needless to say they paid the amount we bought the car for which was shocking! plus $8500 for a down payment!

So yesterday she got a 2020 Hatch Sport Touring in Rally Red!

So at least one win in this situation: you got the car upgraded to the correct color.

Glad to hear your wife is ok!

Anyone notice that all things considered I think the Civic won this fight... Maybe I'm not seeing everything but it looks like the Civic is closer to driveable than the f150. That's pretty incredible.

Glad she's okay! Too bad there wasn't some way to get the data from the onboard computer to see how the artificial intelligence Honda built into the Sensing reacted to such a situation. Regardless, a 55mph impact, even if mitigated by the Sensing and her reactions, is still an impressive amount of energy dumped into the cabin of the car and its occupants so it's nice to see all the other safety systems working in unison to protect the passengers inside!!
