I understand what your saying. One intersection near me has the stop line for the left lane set back about a half a car length compared to the stop line of the right lane. This is not a left turn only lane, just a regular left lane. I like that way of doing it.Good point .. but at some local crossroads here, the stop lines seem to be way too far forward, and cars turning left in front of you can come really close - and it only takes one turning idiot on a cell phone to ruin your day.
