My WOP has the same “eggshell” on the bumpers vs the metal body panels.

It’s only visible in certain times of day.
My friend used to work as paint tech for Toyota and I recall having a conversation with him about how plastic bumpers colours vary from the metal body panels. Like other posters mentioned it’s how the paint sticks to different surfaces. Doesn’t matter to me I love the colour and car.

I can see a difference in most cars, including my Urban Titanium CR-V.
But, I was rather always wondering how they manage to keep the difference so small.

With proper lighting, a good camera and a bit of tweaking in post process, these differences can be made extremely visible in pictures.

Just noticed it today actually. Bumper looks more yellow than the quarter panel. Not sure if there is resolution to this, or it’s just a $24,900 MSRP car thing.

I Never owned a car with plastic bumpers that ever matched perfect. Not only an issue on inexpensive cars, expensive ones too

My '18 Si coupe has the yellowish sides and back bumper. Front bumper looks fine. It really pisses me off though. Combine this with several trim pieces not connected correctly, including the dreading grill, and it's just poorly put together. It's the worst assembly of any new car I've had in almost 30 years of constantly owning new cars. Honda assembly is bad IMO. Resale, handling, and economy are good though. It's a balance.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. I know the picture probably doesn't do it justice, but yes. That's what started this thread
