I hope for your sake that the car is totaled.
Take the money and run!
Start over, even if it means a small loss.

If the car is fixed, it will look just as good as it did before the accident.
It just won't perform as well, along with small little annoyances that
weren't repaired correctly.

100% this. I have never seen a car that was as good after a wreck. It's just not possible, there will always be some small little something. Might be minor, but it'll be there.

I have a similar story....bought my hatch a month ago. Two weeks after I bought it it got involved in a hit and run in a parking lot. Luckily a parking attendant noticed it and got the plates and I called an officer to get a report. Never could find who actually did it, turned out to be a leased car. Cop said its hard to pin it on a single person as they normally say it wasnt them or they let someone borrow their car. So here I am with a new car and a cracked rear bumper. Only way to get it fixed is to pay deductible from insurance...ticks me off how no one is responsible and I am left with the payment.
