I ask about 0W-30 and was advised to use recommended 0W-20.

The reason is because I love it, been using it on my previous vehicles since 2002 and currently on my Murano. Also it's one of the few that are Made in Belgium, outside North America. Not that there's anything wrong with that. :)

I'm going with ROYAL PURPLE because from what I've read and heard about it and that it went on sale, bought two jugs even though I won't be using it until late Spring 2017. LOL. I don't know how often this brand goes on sale.

What do you use and why?

Royal Purple was the cause of my buddies 4g63 blowing up last fall, the royal purple can't handle the heat as well as some other oils. Not sure what all this nonsense lately here about switching oil weights.. I think I'm going to go with AMSOIL for my 3rd oil change which is due now, and I'll stick with WIX filter changes every time aswell. Lots of debate on oil brands. No debate on oil weight

We are starting to get back UOAs on 0W-20 which have been very favorable. IMHO, get the best mainstream oil through Amazon or Wal-Mart at a reasonable price. Penzoil Platinum synthetic is pretty highly regarded in the Turbo DI community (Mazda, Subaru, VW, etc).

Or in the above example, pay an extra premium for something like Amsoil. In the end it's cheap insurance for the long haul. More here:

Unfortunately, there are some trying to debate oil weight without the UOAs to back it up. So until we get some data back, best to stick with the manufacturer's recommendation and retain the warranty.

Honda Full Synth 0W-20...OEM Honda filter....I like getting it from Bernardiparts. They give you a crush washer with the filter purchase.

LOL

I remember the free crush washer back in the day with my 2002 Acura RSX Premium.

Nissan is cheap they want $2 for it. I have to buy a pack of 10 to get hooked up. LOL

I'm looking to stock up on A01 filters since they've been replaced by A02 by Fram

Is it perfectly fine to stock up on the A01s? Not sure if it's smart to leave these filters on the shelves for years

Currently running Mobil 1 EP 0w20 and a Fram Ultra XG7317 filter.
Next oil change, I'll be using Mobil 1 AFE 0w20 .
It was on sale at Costco last month for $25.99 (pack of 6qts) ,and had a $12 rebate.

I am running Redline 0w-20 and a Royal Purple oil filter number 10-2867. My 1.5 Turbo runs great and gets very good gas mileage.

Generally, I've used Mobil 1 for both the filter and oil. I have always put in the extended performance or similar. I don't see any reason for extremely expensive oil. If someone has an alternative perspective, though, I'm always up for listening. :)
