I know this has been asked several times but i havent found anyone giving a clear answer .
Last weekend i needed to do a oil change and tried to install an universal flat oil sandwich adaptor to install my oil temp and pressure sensors.
The 1.5T engine has no room for the sensors without using a special angled adaptor or using a very thick sandwich adaptor(which extends the oil filter very close to the ground). The ac compressor is also in the way .I used a 3d printed adaptor as a spacer to see if that works ,it does but the oil filter would be dangerously close to the ground.
On A FK8 the oil filter is angled away from the ac compressor and there is more room for the sensors.

Using a universal flat sandwich adaptor doesn't work.
The only way to install these sensors is to either use a specially made angled adaptor like the MAP performance or ETL oil cooler kits have or install a remote T piece with a flex line from the oem oil pressure port and install the temp sensor in the oil pan.
Either using a drain bolt with 1/8npt thread in it or welding a 1/8 npt bung on the oil pan.

The oem oil pressure sensor is located on the front of the engine below the Turbo inlet pipe and above the ac compressor.
It has a 1/8 BSPT thread like all other honda's.

For routing the cable's @metal_driver gave a good idea where there is a opening into the cabin .

I think glowshift has a plate that is only maybe 1/2 thick. Has 2 ports for sensors like the oil pressure. And yes to my knowledge you just need to get the NPT thread into the drain plug for the sensor to work. Doesn’t really seem to hard. But the mock ups look good!

I used a plate that is 1.5inch thick and there's no room to fit the sensors .I doubled that thickness and that just cleared the ac compressor .So using even thinner gives even less room.
The sensor ports need to be angled down pretty steep to clear the surrounding area (ac compressor and oil pan)

Agreed it can be done!
The sandwich plate I got in the ETL kit works great!
I had to run the wires through the firewall but that was easy.
The plate does sit lower than usually but still within the frame and under the pan.

Yes but the ETL kit spaces out a lot and it comes with a short oilfilter?Otherwise the oil filter would hit the ground.
Its like I said it needs to be spaced out alot to have enough room for sensors to fit.
Most of them are oil cooler kits that happen to have sensor ports.

Agreed but I also have three other oil filters that will work that are shorter. They do work I assure you.
One is a Mitsubishi filter, a Mercedes and a Fram.

Stm tuned sells the drain bolt with the npt thread for a temp sensor. It’s a pain in the ass for oil changes.

Why would it be a pain in the ass? It's just the same bolt only a little longer because of the sensor. The connector can be unplugged.

You just have to unplug the sensor and twist the wire around while you turn the bolt with a wrench. I also prefer to torque my drain bolts but can’t with the wrench. Not the end of the world

I used the pro sport gauges sandwich plate only downside is you have to shave something in the oil pan lol

If you unplug the sensor there isn't a wire connected anymore...Unless you are using some weird temp sensor. But most look like this I assume. I also like use a torque wrench and figured I could use a long socket and still clear the sensor (hopefully).

Oh I see. I have the defi sensor. Different config. I get oil on the damn wire during a change. I should have welded a bung in the pan.

You can use a crows foot adapter to torque it! 😁
