Oil filter wrench

The oil filter is recessed into the pan which really does not give much room to work with. I had that black cap attachment to a socket wrench and it would not come out. I ended up using vice grips which crunched the can. The way the pan block access to a lot of the filter makes it more difficult.

I just picked this up to work on my wife's Rav4. Will it also work on a 10th gen Civic? It has 14 flutes. Thanks!

Just a follow up. I can confirm that this oil filter wrench will work on our Civic! Just did it yesterday and it fit no problem, so I ended up returning that other universal vice style Fram wrench from Princess Auto.

The filter on my engine is right out in the open.
I just use a large pair of slip joint pliers.
