Got a link to that wrench? Is that just a clamp on?

How does that grab onto a really stuck filter? Looks like it would just slip?

It doesn’t slip, take my word for it. Presently they cost $5 at Princess Auto, very good price.
There is a Princess Auto in Edmonton
Yeah I just saw the one review on the Princess Auto site and it gave a negative review, although I'll probably go still pick one up based on your take, plus for $5 can't go wrong.

Nice to know that people are using all sorts of tools to get the filter off. I thought the only options were the official Honda filter wrench or a generic strap wrench.

Well I just picked up that Fram universal filter wrench for only $5 from Princess Auto. Pretty ingenious design, in that it locks on tighter the more your torque it in the removal direction. It won't work for installations but that's okay since that's a hand job only... thanks for the recommendations everyone, looking forward to trying it on the next oil change.
