This topic has been endlessly discussed. You'll get all kinds of answers. Unless you are tuned and beating the crap out of your engine, I've yet to see a compelling reason not to follow Honda's maintenance directives.

I see oil dilution is a concern for some, and perhaps rightly so, but I had three successive oil tests come back clean, so I personally am not concerned.

I changed every 7500 - 8500 miles, using full synthetic oil only. My car is stock and only used for normal commuting. If your car is tuned, do alot of racing, you may wanna change it earlier.

I’ve had my car 3 weeks and put about 1000 miles on it. The oil quality is stuck at 80% and has not changed? Normal? My GM cars it changes noticeably 1% at a time.

I’m thinking about getting a service done when it hits 10k miles soon just so I know where I stand.

The oil life indicator changes in 10% increments until it hits 15%, then goes down in 5% increments.

I Change every season 5000 kilometers. In dayli use 7500-10000 will be ok.

I just do what the MM tells me to do, that way I don't have to think about it. I use Mobil 1. 76,000 miles so far. When I had my old Accord I did it by it's "MM" which just changed at 7,500 no matter what the driving conditions. That car made it to 364,000 miles before I sold it for $900.00 I bet it's still running somewhere. I just didn't want to do another timing belt. lol
