Ok guys I'm finally installing my turbo this weekend. Any helpful tips for the install? I have new plugs, fresh oil/filter, coolant, titanium downpipe studs and of course all gaskets, lines and hardware that came with turbo.

I think I have all that is needed.
If you have needle nose channel locks those help to block of the coolant line so your not leaking every where. The most difficult one is the little elbow under the turbo that goes to the turbo from the waterpump

Thanks in advance.

Make sure to run 5w30 oil, it’s available at Honda. Also have a laptop ready to change your tune to a new tune. I don’t know what tuner your using but the w1 base map works fine on Hondata. Not sure what’s available on ktuner. I have my plugs gapped down to .020” instead of stock gap which is some thing like .027”. When the stock turbo is removed look for black soot on the turbine side and look for cracking between the turbine blades and wastegate opening. If you see white soot your car is running lean. If you have a crack on the area mentioned in the exhaust turbine, the tune is too lean.
I kept the boost low (under 10psi) for the first 50 miles of street driving and stayed off high speed pulls until after 100miles. It seems excessive but you want to keep the turbo alive as long as you can.

W1 does have its issues and the biggest one is after a while the turbine housing cracks 27won only offers a 1 year warranty and the crack always happens between the wastegate and turbine so be aware of that I have attached pics of my W1 after 8 months of use

This is the cracking I’m referring to.

So after installing my new RV6 dp/fp on my car I noticed the full boost is hitting later in the rpm range now.
My AFE takeda catless dp I had on my car was a 3” that tapered down to the stock diameter fp. My guess would be that the high boost and back pressure I was experiencing was allowing the turbo to hit peak boost sooner at the expense of lost power on the top end. Now I’m hitting power boost at 4-4.5k but the car pulls like a 9th gen with bad torque steer. Imagine a cartoon car that hits nitrous and it gets squirrelly. Cars 2 Towmater

Yeah that’s where I’m at now noticeable torque steer and power to redline it’s a definite upgrade over stock that being said with my fully built motor and upgraded fuel system I’m thinking I may just go big turbo to make the most out of my setup time and money will tell lol

Thank you. I am going with a imw etune. I already have the starter file ready to flash as well as 5-30 oil.

Final preparations before install this weekend. Match ported the compressor outlet to the outlet port of the turbo inlet pipe. Removed about 2mm now a seemless flow from turbo to intercooler piping.

The RV6 turbo is finally installed. Install went very well, no leaks on first start up or after first test drive. Now to start datalogging so I can get the tune from derek finalized. Did not do the manifold, ran short on time. I want to wait until tune is finalized to see if I feel a difference anyways. Changed plugs and oil as well.

They worked out perfectly. Feel much better if I would have to remove my downpipe that they won't seize up like the stock bolts/studs

Are they the same ones that they listed for the FK8? I’ve been thinking of getting them so removing the DP can be much easier.
Yes same ones
