Man that was a while ago (3-4 years)... but to answer your question, yes Plastidip. Aluminum Metalizer on black base.
I don't remember how many layers of each but I'd start with 3-5 black base, then 3-5 metalizer coats. Let about 10-15 min to try beween coats. The first layer of each color is extremely light and not full coverage. Make sure you thoroughly clean your wheels. I had my wheels removed when I did mine as I have two sets (winter/not winter). Taped up the side walls with a crap ton of painters tape and the inside of the wheel hub so that remains the glossy black.
