Anyone know how to bypass the OEM amp on the SI? I know it’s on the passenger side kick panel. I need to bypass it because I ordered an aftermarket 9” head unit and it won’t work unless I bypass the factory amp.

Where did you get that?

All the wiring diagrams you need are in the service manual and one is in the sticky section in the Type-R forum. The links in the first post are broken, but there's a link to a zip file a few posts down. I think it should apply to all MYs.

There're also lots of threads on this subject in the Audio forum. And here's one might be helpful

To bypass it completely, You'd need a new harness that goes from the radio all the way to the output side of the amp, which I'm not sure is available as a pre made. I don't guess it wouldn't be that difficult to make if you know anything about making harnesses. Is bypassing strictly necessary?

Let me know if you figure this out. I'm interested in getting an android head unit as well!

Anyone find a solution ? I installed Navifly 7862 and no sound so I'm guessing I need to bypass the amp as well? Customer support said I need to install a separate amp? So frustrating that Honda gave us such a shitty head unit and makes it so diffictult to change it.

Apparently Joying has a workaround now to work with the SI and Sport Touring factory amp. I ordered one but I will have to wait and see what it is. Maybe you can order a bypass from them if it will fit your unit. I never did find a solution for the Navifly unit I bought so I had to return it. Here's the link to the Joying. Note where you can now specify if your car has the factory amp

You should have bought the Joying 10.5" Civic-specific model. They have an option to get it working with the Touring/Si/Type-R factory system. I have it on my R now and it works fantastic. This is the one I got, paid $365 last month after sale and coupons. Make sure to request the correct option (message them right after). You'll want the third option pictured below. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002700507398.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.0.0.21ef1802y2ynpf

Otherwise I believe Metra and a user on here does sell an amp bypass kit if you plan on wiring up the aftermarket Headunit directly to the speakers, or run an aftermarket amplifier. Just know that you'll have to replace your speakers as well I'm assuming, but maybe not- someone could chime in on that.

Sorry to revive a dead thread, but were you able to receive and install this? I just got an AWESAFE one off amazon (it was amazing) but I have the premium audio so was not compatible. The only thing I am concerned about is loosing my lane watch with the joying auto.

I currently have the Joying in my R that has the premium amplified system. Make sure you request harness choice 3 for the amplified system. Lane watch should also still work, there’s a setting to turn it on. We don’t have lane watch on the R in the US, but a Canadian member on here does and it worked
