To me, this TSB raises far more questions than it answers.
TSB 18-137 call "to change" the AC Control Unit .
Anyone know what the NEW "Ac Control Unit" part number is, and how if differs from the ones that have to be replaced ?
I assume there are "old AC Control Unit" parts numbers listed somewhere that this TSB says should be replaced with their new counterpart.
Maybe this information is now currently on the Honda Service "subscription" Website ?
Anyone have access and can check ? PLEASE
Somehow Dealers must know what Part# need to be replaced with what new Part # ??
There have been posts in this forum, where members have had the TSB done, but not got the AC Control Unit replaced.
WHY ? Not needed ? None available (Run Out), Dealer being Lazy ??
Do all 2018 GenX 1.5L-T's have the same AC Control Unit
What has changed in the NEW Unit ?? Changed parameters, or was there something defective (wrong) in the old units that was adding to the OD.
Before I let a Dealer loose on my car, and changing stuff, I would like to know exactly what part# is being changed to & why, especially as it sees to be running "just fine" as it is from the factory.
If I don't let the Dealer do this TSB, does this void my engine warranty. ?
How about those that live in warmer states, and have not been told to get this TSB done.
What if they move further north.. same Vin # !!! How does that work.. ???
Why do some Dealer in the Northern USA States still claim they know nothing about the TSB ?
All seems very vague & "Hit & Miss".
Does not sit well with my "Engineer's Mind" !!!
And yes, it's a sad state of affairs when I put more trust in answers from people who I have no clue who they are on an Internet Forum, than from talking "face to face" to (or should that be " 2 faced") Dealer - especially one of their so called "Service Consultants" , most of who seem to have little or no Auto Technical knowledge, and then make that an excuse for not being able to guarantee that what they tell you is technically correct !!!
