Just got my 2016 civic lx coupe cvt about two weeks ago or so. I’ve never notice it doing this before but in city driving the rpms when coming to a stop are holding at 1400-1500 and making it feel like the cars accelerating itself, like it has zero engine breaking. when I get to about 5 mph the rpms abruptly drop to 700-800 like a normal idle. Just seemed like it wasn’t doing this before. Can someone tell me if this is normal? Thanks

I think I found an answer my daughter was out driving (new driver) with me and she tends to accelerate faster and brake quicker then your average driver while she’s learning and I’m thinking the car went into the adaptive sport ride mode and held rpms more

Reading that, I am even more satisfied to have a 6MT . It is me the driver , not the car
