Is zat true? I thought all 1.5T have sodium-filled exhaust valves and the Si actually has a lower compression ratio. Was I wrong?:hmm:
No, from what I've read only the Si has Sodium filled valves and a higher compression ratio, while the "normal Civic" doesn't have sodium filled valves. The 1.5L in the regular Civic has a compression ratio of 10:6:1 while the Si has a ratio of 10:3:1 as it operates at a higher boost pressure
All the L15Bs have sodium filled exhaust valves. Also, 10.3:1 is LOWER than 10.6:1.

Actually ... this is from the official Honda press kit for the 2016 1.5T non-Si Civic:

To benefit fuel efficiency, emissions and power, the turbo engine utilizes sodium filled exhaust valves. A hollow chamber within the valve contains sodium that is cooled by the exhaust port cooling jacket. As the camber reaches close to the valve head, the sodium helps to cool the entire valve. As the valve is internally cooled it doesn't need the enriched fuel mixture that was generally used in turbo engines to help cool the exhaust valve. The resultant leaner mixture reduces emissions, increases fuel efficiency and helps increase power.
Edit: I see hobby-man beat me by a few seconds.

I'm surprised no one caught that mistake in all this time. Tsk, tsk, tsk shame on all of you! To think, it took a few strokes of the keyboard of a troll

I've gone ahead and scolded myself and sent myself to my room with no supper as punishment.

Last night I see a few notifications of some not so nice replies from @Bobbyh to some members, and then this morning, poof all traces of him gone. The Force remains strong with the Admins :)

RiP @Bobbyh, who's trolling days have been cut way too short. It's not fair. May you continue to troll in another life...
