New to the club and loving my new ride and first Honda Car Purchase. I’ve owned and still own many brands but never a Honda car. Motorcycles, Dirt Bikes, ATVS, Side by sides, Utility vehicles but never a car and even I’m amazed it’s taking this long. And all I can say is WOW, WOW, WOW on my new ride and I have other performance vehicles and I am just thrilled how fun this car is. I just sold my Ford Focus this last September and thought I’m crazy but now I know why:D Hope other’s here have the same feeling and look forward to the Forum discussions.
And today I had the windows tinted, side markers darkened and I put my mud flaps on this evening,

Awesome and congrats! Killer color btw though I may be partial

Had a lot of cars too and this one stands out - such a fun car to own and drive. Enjoy bud! Advice - drive for a while before getting lured by any power mods. I've modded most cars I've owned and this one....dunno it just feels great as it sits to me.

Thanks NapalmEnema and yes she’s really nice just the way she sits. And I feel she is faster and more nimble and precise then my former Focus RS. Which I even have a hard time believing lol. But damn this car just rolls down the road like nothing and you really have to watch your speeds. Hitting 80-90 is like nothing yikes yikes yikes and the reason I say this is because I live in the most radical state in the country of speeding tickets. In the state of Virginia a speeding ticket over 20 mph in any speed zone and or over 80mph is automatic Reckless Driving snd Class 1 Misdemeanor Criminal Charge. And trust me I know this to a tee:eek: anyways watch your speed in Virginia:D.

Focus RS gets you to from 0-60 like clockwork. The Type R will get you from 40-100 like clockwork :p That 3rd gear pull can be quite strong.

Right that’s exactly what I felt this past weekend the turbo just starts pulling and pulling like no other Turbo I own nor have owned, And I have the new Supra and she’s a blast but the R seems so better balanced and more nimble. The Type R is an all day capable driving car which my RS was just too small and the Recaro seats did not fit me well. About an hour in and it’s time to get out and my Supra is super fun but light in the back end if your into drifting and cramped interior. My left leg gets cramps since your body posture ain’t great in the seat. The window down mode at 40 plus is not bearable with the turbulence in the cockpit which truly sucks really bad design. The Type R is huge in the interior over the RS and she’s a little gnarly ride wise on bad streets but better than the Ford Focus RS. I am hoping the Honda motor is true and tried unlike the RS Head-gasket issues.

Congrats, enjoy. Neat to hear a Supra owner find the CTR such a pleasure.

You'll probably get to it, but I'd remove the dealer license plate border and dealer sticker on the trunk below the Civic emblem, no dealer deserves free advertising with a sticker on someone's car, especially a CTR

I have a very similar opinion of my CTR. I also have other performance cars and have owned and operated a Mustang specific performance shop since 1993 in Maryland. I really love driving the Type R, in my eyes it's the perfect Swiss Army knife/ Jack of all trades....it is good at whatever you ask it to do for you. I have owned my 19' for almost a year (May 11th will be a year) and I enjoy it more than when I first bought it! Best of luck with your FK8! I'm sure you will love it!

Look into some18" winter wheels/tires. I've bent three stock wheels and those tires do not like cold temps.

Congratulations on your Type R!

I’ve never had a car drive so well with stock equipment - powertrain and suspension. I find excuses to get out and drive it all the time hahaha! Also, like you mentioned, having fun in Virginia is tough with all the speed traps (ughh). Waze has saved me numerous times though.

I totally agree with your Waze comment! I live in Maryland and it has saved me more times than I can remember!

Thanks for your input re the Supra. I was cross shopping that too but it did not come with a manual and I really wanted to get back into rowing my own gears after a long hiatus. The M2 comp was also a consideration, but at that level, I'd start to look at used Porsches instead. Too many fun cars out there, but right now I'm glad I have my R. :)

Welcome! Those mud flaps are a nice touch. I’m thinking of going with the white lettering on mine. I have a cw typer. Was it pretty straight forward to install?
