Yesterday I got into a accident at parking lot. I was backing up already half way out and about to put the gear on drive, suddenly this other driver hit me reversing out also opposite side. We traded insurance, then I went straight to my insurance company. To find out that this person wasn’t anywhere to be found in his insurance company system (Commercial car). My insurance claim that they will direct me to a body shop and will pay part of the cost and then I pay the deductible. I have an appointment on Monday with the body shop. How much do you guys think this will cost to repair? Any recommendations what I should do?

Probably around $1500 to replace (and repaint) bumper cover and rear taillight. That's on top of deductible.

Broken tail light and a big dent in the plastic bumper cover?
Replace the busted light with a used one and remove the bumper cover and push it back into shape from the backside.
That will be virtually invisible when it’s done.
No need for a body shop and no need to pay a deductible.

Pour how water on the bumper and push it from the other side into place. As for the taillight I have a set of stock ones that I don’t use and don’t mind selling.

Depends on how much it effects your premium. Using your deductible will almost guarantee a raise in rates.
