I need new rotors for my 2020 Type R. I don't want to get fancy 2 piece rotors if I don't have to since this is a daily driver. Maybe I'm dumb but I can't seem to find the part number for the OEM rotor or a comparable aftermarket brand. What rotors are you guys using?

Based on a conversation I had with an engineer who specializes in brakes: 2-piece rotors are only beneficial when you're on track and/or actually racing. For street use, the weight savings are negligible and there are no other advantages besides looks, and I doubt you'll really wish to engage the person staring at your brake rotors in a conversation.

TL;DR: Get Stoptech, you'll be fine.

Rotors are in really short supply from many manufacturers at the moment, but I do have the following in stock that won't break the bank. Not listing the Paragon 2-piece that are also in stock as they're above your stated budget/needs.

Fronts

DBA Front Blanks, $285/set: https://unity-performance.com/produ...hield-front-blank-rotors-2017-21-civic-type-r - street replacement rotor

DBA T2 Slotted, $403/set: https://unity-performance.com/products/dba-3000-series-front-slotted-rotors-2017-21-civic-type-r - best suited for street use, and light to mild tracking

DBA T3 Slotted, $472/set: https://unity-performance.com/products/dba-4000-series-slotted-front-rotors-2017-21-civic-type-r - can handle heavy track use as it has additional cooling vanes, and it's a high carbon alloyed iron rotor that handles higher temperatures better

--

Rears

Centric Brank Rears, $154/set: https://unity-performance.com/products/centric-blank-rear-rotors-civic-type-r - street replacement rotor, but many don't mind replacing this once or twice a year if they're tracking heavily

EBC Slotted Rears, $288/set: https://unity-performance.com/products/ebc-slotted-rear-rotors-civic-type-r - fine for all uses

OEM Rears, $215/set: https://unity-performance.com/products/honda-oem-blank-rear-rotors-2017-21-civic-type-r

Just to reiterate, above isn't my full collection of Rotors, just the ones I have ready to go on my shelves :)

I think the 2019 rotors fit without modifications - check the forum for confirmation. They’re less than half the price of the 2 piece. Like 115 a rotor.

35k. Massive lip that is causing interference at times (loud metal scraping noise). Trusted mechanic said he would not turn the rotors due to thickness.

I was torn between the DBAs and the stoptechs but the stoptechs were a fraction of the cost and have great reviews on this forum so I went with those. In the future I may consider going with DBAs.

Any chance you've just got some pebbles or other nonsense trapped behind the heat shield? I've got a 2019 and on occasion need to pull the front wheels to clean that crap out. I'm not sure if the later models addressed that issue.

totally normal on these cars, inconvenient, but normal.
