Hi, I'm building my motor to make more power and hold the power I'm currently making. So far, I've made 330 whp and 318 wtq on e30 and I feel the itch for making more power. I've recently purchased Si intake cams, exhaust cams, a cometic L15B7 headgasket, L15B7 ARP headstuds, and a belt to work with the Si shortblock I'm planning on purchasing from TSP. If any of you guys have built your motors or have tips for what parts are needed to make the whole thing work properly any input is welcome!

Belts are on the way, Honda is being stingy with the cams saying they’re “controlled product”. Used a vin from a salvaged civic Si to confirm the si engine I’m getting.

Billet oil pump gears, BC valve springs and retainers

Also most people recommend using an OE head gasket not the cometic one

I've heard through my engine builder who was told through Eman that factory gasket and even studs are good for ~30 PSI. So factory gasket + ARP studs you should be fine. If you already have it, I'm sure its okay to use though.

Gotcha, I’ll use the factory gasket and I haven’t purchased the arp head studs yet either. Trying to stagger my purchases so I don’t empty my bank account. Belt came in today, hopefully Honda will get back to me with the cams. Then I can get the oil gears, retainers and springs, and anything else I can think of.

I wasn't aware you need a new belt? What's the difference?

The cams came in today finally, both are looking good and now I can focus on valve springs, a new OEM head gasket, and some 4 bar map sensors.

Okay well everything is purchased now. Tsp built block, intake, exhaust cams for the Si, 4 bar map sensors, titanium valve springs and retainers, timing tensioner, and cam chain covers. I’ll post pictures of everything when I’m off work except the built block because it’s still being assembled.

The Si built block is plug and play pretty much. I was going to go through my mechanic to build my motor but after thinking about how much more money I was going to have to put into my car just to make more power I decided to sell my car and buy a mustang bullitt. But after all the research I did about the L15 it seems the cams, valve springs and retainers, 4 bar map sensors, head gasket, and the short block are plug and play aside from needing to tune for the 4bar map sensors and new cams and lower compression than the 10:6:1 that’s factory with the hatch. Thank you all for your interest in my build!

Running 40psi with the factory headgasket and arp studs.

Good luck on the build dude! Sounds like your doing it right and getting the motor prepared for your goals. Just be nice to your trans now ;)
