if the refrigerant is leaking then push honda to fix it under warranty as you didn't damage them at all. your compressor will be damaged if the refrigerant is leaking as it lubricates compressor. If you just keep on adding refrigerant without fixing root cause it's not going to fix anything as you end up spending $30 per bottle which adds up to the money for that band aid fix you are doing
Out of warranty. Not willing to shell out $2600 when I can get cold air now for $30. Only time will tell if this experiment works. By saying no to the dealer, I'm playing with house money and I'm up $2570 bucks and my a/c is ice cold. #winning

That's how I feel about it too. I've already paid ~$2500 to fix the shitty parts, so if now I can routinely get cold air with a band-aid it for cheap I'm all in. I'll ride it til the wheels fall off cuz at this point it's not like it's easy to sell or trade in for anything. I'm just trying to get some of my moneys worth before being able to get rid of this shit.

Oh my! I almost paid that amount till I called the corporate office to which they gave me a goodwill payment that is a huge relief on my part. The case manager reached out to me again the second time and told me that they’ll call the dealership again today. He also told me to give my service rep a call later today to check if the parts came in already.

hmmm, sounds like buying the refrig in a can like old school could be the way to go. Not ideal but if you own stock in honeywell I suppose this will be a small moneystream for them.

You can push a couple ounces of oil into the system as well when you add refrigerant. Once I added oil to mine the rattling the compressor had been making almost completely stopped. 8oz of 1234yf and its been cold again for a month so far..

Good luck! Hope it turns out well. Unfortunately since mine is a Salvage title they 99% of the time wouldn't help me at all.

Can anyone take a pic of where the High Pressure Switch is located?
I don't see it and I can't find anything online for a 2016 civic.

Thanks!

I just fixed a 2019 HRV with a similar issue. Turned out to be the high side pressure switch was faulty.
Where was the High Pressure Switch is located?

Behind the passenger side fog light area, towards the radiator iirc

Friend in Ukraine says there they just extract refrigerant and add the old refrigerant 134a and works like a charm lol

(Is US illegal, $1000 fine)
