Hello all, been a long time lurker on this forum and finally ended up making an account. I went from a 8thgen Si to a FRS and now to my 10thgen Si and I must say I love this car more and more each and everyday.

Purchased my 10thgen on 9/30/17.

Current mods:

Exterior:

20% tints all around + 50% front windshield
LED 6k low beams (matches the DRL LED)
LED 6k fog lights (matches the DRL LED)
Smoked front side markers
Type-R front bumper conversion
Blacked out chrome window trim
“Mugen style” window visors
Plain red window banner
Smoked out reverse light

Interior:

Type-R steering wheel
Carbon fiber steering wheel trim overlays
Spoon sports duracon shift knob
Red climate control knobs
Weathertech front + rear floor liners (winter)
HFP red floor mats (summer)

Performance:

Ktuner v2
TSP PNP Flex Fuel kit
TSP Stage2 tune
PRL Motorsports cobra cold air intake
PRL Motorsports front mount intercooler
PLM 3” catless downpipe
PLM 3” frontpipe
Greddy catback
Boomba racing rear motor mount

Footwork:

D2 racing coilovers
Godspeed rear camber arms
Enkei NT03, 18x9.5 +40 w/ 245/40/18 tires

Mods that are next in the future:

Clutch
Acuity cable shifter bushings
Acuity base shifter bushings
Acuity short shifter (still in production)
PRL big turbo kit

My goal is to keep this car a daily driver that is fun and sporty with a time attack/track inspired look that can keep up with STIs/EVOs.

Follow me on Instagram if you have one as well @jbabas

Picked up a boomba racing black rear motor mount yesterday and installed it last night. I love the thing. Yes it vibrates but it is tolerable to me as I am used to a vehicle with mounts. No more wheel hop and shifts feel a bit more crisp

Also i ordered the PLM pipes and they came early, which I cannot complain about lol. Says was supposed to arrive Monday just arrived right now. Welds look pretty legit, came with all necessary hardware, gaskets nuts bolts and even came with the angled o2 sensor defouler(which I emailed them about but got no response, so looks like they will include it in all future purchases which is great). I will most likely wrap the downpipe in exhaust heat wrap since it sits right under the intake in the front of the engine bay to help reduce under hood temps and I will most likely spray the flanges with VHT high temp exhaust ceramic spray to help repvent with rust since I live in Chicago and winters here are pretty shitty. And the pipes were wrapped in bubble wrap I took them off for the pictures. Will get these installed on Monday!

How does this car compared to your frs?
The Si is much much faster and torquier that’s for sure. I had full bolt ons, e85 and tune on the frs and the Si is still faster with just Ktuner alone. The Si is more comfortable but then again i had coil overs on the frs as well. The Si is much more practical as well obviously, and even if I got the coupe I’m sure the si coupe is still much more practical than the frs. Frs back seats are pretty much non existent, trunk space? Barely any room either. Handling is pretty similar except the frs was just more stiffer around the corners, not as much body roll and of course it was fun whipping the rear end out in the frs. The only thing that the frs has over the si in my opinion is looks, driving feel and the fun with rwd. The best way to explain the frs driving feel is close to a Porsche 911, (yes I have driven one before). But I love my si. Hope that answers it lol.

Little update, got in an accident about 3 weeks ago and needed a new front bumper so decided to go with @Ikon Motorsports type r front end. Turned out a lot better than I had expected and I love it!

I was very close to getting an 86. Thanks for the review. I know driving feel is the most important but to have it as a second car, I feel I should get a summer only car to make it worth it. The 86 seems to be “similar” to the si as I want something that’s much more different.

Yeah I feel like the 86 is a great summer/weekend car. Not much practicality with it for everyday driving. I mean it can do it but with it so small can be annoying at times. It definitely needs more power too though.

Been a while since I’ve updated.

Got a custom “axle back” made and installed d2 racing coilovers and garageline 20/25mm spacers about 3 weeks ago and here is how she sits now!

Quick update, one of my friends gave me a Type R steering wheel so just installed that! Ordered the carbon fiber trim pieces for the steering wheel as well, that should be coming soon in the mail.

Don’t have any after shots of the front with the prl intercooler because my front end is all messed up, the front lip ripped off on the highway and the paint is chipping/peeling really really bad so the front end looks like complete shit. Waiting for the front lip to come in and it will be getting repainted soon!
