It must have been the latest update, but now both my '17 and '19 Civics get 'locked' into Navigation volume when I plug my iPhone in. What I mean is when I try to turn up the volume on my radio, it only adjust the volume of the navigation voice. Easily corrected by simply activating Siri and then canceling, but still a bit of a drag. Hopefully there will be an update. Have others experienced this?

Same issue with iPhone XR and iOS 13.4.1. Rebooting phone and headunit does not fix the problem. Unplugging and replugging in phone does.

I am still on 13.3.1. Unplugging and plugging back in does not resolve it for me. I have to activate Siri. Upgrading tonight.

This is an issue with the phone software. It happens in every vehicle I drive. Ford, Honda, doesn't matter.

There is an issue with the latest update of Waze causing this issue. I have found that turning on Waze and then I have the speed alert enabled, once that chimes the volume is released from the guidance volume. I noticed this problem on Saturday on a long road trip and then later found it was widespread.

I’ve had this frustrating issue for the past couple weeks as well.
I found the fix today.

Waze > Voice & Sound > Sounds > Alerts Only (or off)

:)

My Sounds have always been turned off. Still no bueno for me. Since I updated my iPhone to 13.4.1 now I can't even get the music volume back by activating Siri momentarily. Hopefully Waze fixes it on thier end.

This happened to me once, months ago...rebooting the audio system fixed it.

Today the issue was completely gone. I’m not sure if Waze has updated it or the luck of the draw? Haha

Its not Apple its WAZE. The only work around Ive found, shy of deleting WAZE, is to navigate somewhere and do not follow its directions, the second it attempts to recalculate it will release the audio mode. Or delete WAZE.
