Mugen Style Vent Shade Install on 17 fk8

Tools: 1/2 inch 3m automotive double sided tape
Razor Knife
Dremel

I bought these vent shades off of ebay, they had great review and are much cheaper than Honda OEM shades, plus i like the curby look they provide

The product is well made and is strong and fits well. It took a few hours to install because i had a few issues with how the shades were cut. I recut the shdades to my liking, now they are perfect.

Here are few pics

yes it doesn't use the factory OEM christmas tree clips, but honestly you don't need them the 3m automotive 1/2 tape does the trick. I am not sure how the quality is other vent shades made by this company. But for plastic homemade mugen style vent shades and a little DIY, they look great and saved me hundreds.
pricing may vary, i purchased this product for 67 dollars + shipping

I've had these on for over a year. Thought they would fly off on the highway by now but they have stayed put :) Overall they were a good buy and help to add a little more shade to the cabin.

I bought the OEM door visor for double the price, but it's going to last.

The plastic in these aftermarket visor looks cheap with lots of streak mark and scuffs, it's a tell tale sign of poor plastic. Those 3M tape are fake as well, so better have them replaced with the real 3m aka scotch tape.

oem factory ones are 120+ tax shipped. thats how much i bought it for.. not hundreds in difference but as long as you like them.
+1

I just did my side visors and thought I’d add some other photos comparing what came attached and what the 1/2” 3m Tape looks like. The depth of the tape is a little different too.

I haven’t installed because it’s cool and cloudy right now and I don’t have a garage.
I can find the link to the vendor on eBay, if needed, but I’m convinced I got it from one of these threads...

*first time doing this on mobile, sorry if it doesn’t work

I have same visor on my sport hatch, original tape hold up very well. It survived canada summer and winter now and still stay on tight.
Whoever said it is going to fly off is wrong.
Our temperature range from 35C to -33c in canada here.
