Hey guys,

New to the forum. Just picked up my 2020 Civic Sport Hatchback yesterday. This is my first "fun car" and I plan on leaving it mostly stock.

My question is, who makes the most affordable (not bad quality) short ram air intake? Based off the research I have done this is the best way to be able to hear the turbo. I do not want loud exhaust to make my neighbors mad and I do not care about horsepower gains.

What is my most affordable route to being able to hear my turbo from inside the car?

Thanks for any advice you guys can throw me!

The cheaper intakes will through off fuel-trim and mess up AFR.
I would look at Injen's Evolution Intake & AFe Takeda's intake.
Aside from those, there aren't many good Short ram style intakes.
27WON is worth taking a look at as well.

What are the negative effects of the AFR being messed up? I am not a car guy, so I apologize for any dumb questions. Just trying to figure out how to make my car a little more fun to drive on the daily.

It can cause you to run either lean or rich, which can have long-term effects on your vehicle's motor, or it can cause you to lean out / run rich under throttle.

EDIT: Mishimoto is also affordable and nice.

Is there a way to monitor the AFR and adjust it? Or does it make more sense to just spend more money and get a better SRI

I have this SRI

I'm happy with it

The thread has testing with iats and fuel trims looking pretty good

Have you noticed a drop in gas mileage using this SRI? And did you do it just like OP? Just the filter on top of the stock box

Milage is unchanged. On the stock box is per the instructions. I added a pic of the mount point today and have the mishi hose as of right now

These vehicles automatically adjust AFR, but will misread with a bad intake.
You can monitor this via a laptop plugged into a ktuner program.

So if I were to use this filter with stock box and not change the hose, do you think I would see a noticeable difference in the turbo sound? Or would I have to get an aftermarket hose as well

Stock hose has plenty of turbo sounds. I think opening the air box and the high flow filter make the most difference in that regard

As long as we acknowledge that SRI's are basically hot air intakes on these cars...

Interesting. I may even be able to hear a noticeable difference just by opening the box.

Don't think you'd have a working air filter if you do that

A drop in filter with improve flow and sounds as well. Green filter, AEM, and K&N make popular options all around $40-50
