Today i turned on my car to warm up, went inside for less then 10 minutes. When i returned my moonroof was completely open. I attempt to close it via the button inside the car next to the map lights. Does NOT function any part of the roof.

Too close the moonroof i used the Hidden key in our fobs to close the window via the door lock on the driver side.

It is closed .. but the button still does NOT work.... wtf?!? Any ideas? Fuse maybe?

I want to avoid the stealership. Cause reverting back to stock wont be fun. The moonroof obviously works but the button doesnt?

Loose connection? If you want to try it yourself on removing the headliner, I would start tracing the wiring and connectors. I wouldn't know where the fuse is for that, if it wasn't in the main fuse box.

That was my next guess. Read another post about a loose connection somewhere in the pillars or dash area and the owner did it himself.

Little scared to fuck around with this specific item. But atleast my sunroof functions just button doesnt.

It is winter and i barely use it as is. When i fail trying to fix it ill probably just leave it until another issues comes up then do a dealership visit then for more then 1 issue.

Is your window lock button activated? Just a wild guess.

Nah, I just tested this out after reading your post.

The moonroof operated the same with and without the window lock engaged.

Do the buttons for the passenger side electronics (window, lock, climate control) work? I had an issue where my moonroof wouldn't close (in a rainstorm nonetheless), and all the passenger side electronics quit on me.

If that's the case, the issue is a loose connection in the passenger-side doorframe. I had the dealer do it because they have a garage and I don't, but I imagine taking the door liner off would work.

Now that you say that, i need to check ALL my buttons and see of any have a failure. My windows work from the driver side. But i havent checked via the passengers doors.

Would you really need to bring the car back to stock for a moon roof button? They'll still fix the moon roof problems.

Have you checked/replaced the 20 amp fuse located in postion #19 in your fuse box?
I did visual inspect on fuse box. But didnt test them.

By some miracle, about a week later. I went to start my car and it randimly started opening the moonroof again. I clicked the moonroof button and its been working ever since. So now my moonroof works again.... fucking weird. Has to be computer based issue.

100% have to be stock to have warranty work done. Atleast so you dont take the chance of then voiding your warranty. Cause they can. They voided a guys warranty because he used interiorafter market LED lights.
