Someone on facebook said that you can unclip and fold away the stock plastic shrouds instead of cutting them. Has anyone tried installing that way?

I installed mine today and didn't cut them. Just unclipped and folded them outta the way..

Installed my Black with red charge pipe today. Install wasn't bad. Reinstalling the front bumper for the 1st time, by myself was kind of a pain though. Now just hoping to see some improved IAT'S

Got mine today and installed. I bend my factory rubber shroud back to the side. Cant even see it.

No didn't do a guide. The core size I used was :
26" x 4" x 9"

Mishi is 2" longer but mine is 2" taller. They also do 4.7in thickness, mine is 4". Thicker isn't always the best.

Not that hard to do, just be creative and handy!

Would like to see pics if possible. Also, what did you do for endcaps/tubing?

Already had the injen piping kit, has meth bung already on it. Had to add a few couplers and silicone joiners. Not plug and play, but injenuity goes a long way.
I think most of the Type R parts are pricey; have that Type R tax.

Yeah, I completely agree about the Type R tax. Okay, when you said "core" in your earlier post I thought you had TIG welded end caps onto a bar-plate core, but it sounds like you started with a universal FMIC and worked out the mounting and plumbing details. Can you share what FMIC you started with? I did some searches but couldn't find anything with the dimensions you mentioned. Also, roughly what do you think you spent, including the injen piping kit?

I used a steamspeed Focus RS FMIC...it's the same size as Full Race Fmic.

Total spent was about $550.

I had some extra couplers, but Google siliconeintakes.com
They have the joiners and any thing else you would like. I like their t-bolt clamps better than Injen.

Could probably save more buy piecing own piping kit.

I just received my kit and it has 6 worm gear clamps. Will this be an issue not to have the T-Bolt clamps?

Same - 6 worm gear clamps. Held up well under boost at my end.

Nope these will be fine. They are the same type as the factory ones and that has no problem holding boost. In the process of installing mine now.

Trace your way back to see if any connectors is plug back in / hose connected.

4 of us in our group did the installed and none of us had issue.
