I understand your frustration but it does state on their website that the box is steel under the “Purchase Includes” “Steel Airbox” It also says the box is powder coated, can’t powder coat plastic. It’s also pretty clear that the box is metal in the pictures.Yeah ta, if it was clear the housing was metal I wouldn't have bought this. It isn't stated in the product description that it is, and for a car that is known to suffer high running temps I feel it's a poor choice to market this. I've never bought a metal intake before and assumed yours was a plastic variant like others available on the market.
The fees for returning this to the sender didn't seem viable on top of the postage fees for delivery, so I installed it. It adds a nice subtle sound and the quality is nice, but the reason for purchase was in favour of performance gains, which it seems I'll lose as your intake housing will hold more heat and for a longer duration than the stock box ?
If I do encounter issues it'll be removed and replaced with a more suitable product. It's very doubtful I'd buy an alternative Mishimoto intake so soon after realising the one I have isn't beneficial to fast runs/track days and was a waste of money, if this is the case of course.
Thank you for the response, all the best.
