Metallic sound when decelerating

Have the exact issue. Only happens when I let off on the throttle. Disappears during acceleration or when in neutral. And you can only hear it with the windows down as the sound is subtle, but def there.

It sounds like a metal on metal friction noise.
Will be following this thread to see if an eventual solution is found.

funny, I saw the headline for this thread and then had to run an errand and I heard the same shit, never heard it before. only on deceleration, only occurs if I'm going 25mph or more. if it does occur below that speed i can't even hear it. 2019 MY

Its the wastegate actuator piece or whatever its proper name is. They've all done it since 2017. Honda says its normal. I've read where people have had it replaced and its made the same noise.

Yeah I thought this was documented awhile back that it was the electronic wastegate actuator? Puzzling that people are still reporting it as a problem on here

My 2018 has made this noise my entire time I've owned it. I seem to only hear it when its cold. However, it might do it all of the time. Car has 9800 miles on it.

2021 has the same noise as well 800 miles. I’m guessing it’s normal. But it annoys the hell out of me while the windows are down.

My ‘21 with 1100 miles does it. Alarmed me at first but after reading all these posts, definitely sounds normal.

Don't have the key jiggling sound but more a high pitch screeching when letting off throttle. I immediately assumed it was a rock stuck in the brakes again. After taking off all 4 wheels and not finding anything, I'm out of ideas.

Definitely annoying with the windows down. Wonder if its the same issue as some are experiencing here.....

26k miles on my 2019. The sound is still there for me. It goes away after the engine is warmed up.

I have the same sound when down shifting between 4 -2k rpms .I have a new 2021 r and thought it might be a heat shield because I have a catback on with Slight drone when it happens hmmmm
